EASA Part CAO
Part CAO is published in Commission Regulation (EU) No 2019/1383 and is in force from 24.09.2020. Part CAO replaces Part M/F.
Part CAMO laid down requirements which continuing airworthiness organization with combined privileges (CAO) must comply with, applicable for aircraft not defined as complex motor-powered aircraft and not used by the licensed aircraft carrier in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 1008/2008.
CAO may be approved to perform maintenance or continuing airworthiness or both.
Complex motor-powered aircraft means:
- (i) an aeroplane:
- with a maximum certificated take-off mass exceeding 5700 kg, or
- certificated for a maximum passenger seating configuration of more than nineteen, or
- certificated for operation with a minimum crew of at least two pilots, or
- equipped with (a) turbojet engine(s) or more than one turboprop engine, or
- (ii) a helicopter certificated:
- for a maximum take-off mass exceeding 3175 kg, or
- for a maximum passenger seating configuration of more than nine, or
- for operation with a minimum crew of at least two pilots, or
- (iii) a tilt rotor aircraft.
