Change Approval

Any change to the Annex I Aircraft shall be approved by the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency. Change approval application shall be submitted to the CCAA together with the design proposal, workflow chart, proposal of an expert or approved organization which will implement the change, and if necessary testing programme. All documents have to be produced or verified by approved organization or aviation expert.

Change of historical aircraft which has been issued with Certificate of Airworthiness in accordance with the Chicago Convention and for which there is type certificate holder design organization, shall be approved without further technical evaluation if the change has been designed or accepted by the design organization.

Ultralight aircraft (ULA) change design has to be verified by the ULA manufacturer, thus providing the authorization of the change design. In some exceptional cases Croatian Civil Aviation Agency may approve ULA change that are not approved by the manufacturer.

Potential exceptions are Annex I aircraft for which change approval procedure is separately regulated:
  • Sailplanes with empty mass of up to 80/100 kg,
  • Any other unmanned aircraft up to 70 kg.
  • The applicable regulation is Ordinance on conditions and mode of use of hang glider and paraglider OG 58/11
