Have fun with unmanned aircraft but safely and in accordance with the rules

Witth the arrival of summer season increased use of unmanned aircraft for different purposes, mainly for aerial shooting and filming, is noticed.

The use of unmanned aircraft offers many attractive opportunities, both for private and commercial users. However, it is important to be aware that flying an unmanned aircraft might pose annoyance, threat and danger for persons and property on ground and in the air.

Therefore, while flying an unmanned aircraft it is important to comply with applicable rules, mainly mininum distances from persons (30m) and assemblies of people (50m) who are not involved in operations and from airports (5km).

Unauthorised and unlawful use of unmanned aircraft is an offense punishable by a fine for a remote pilot of 5,000.00 to 15,000.00 HRK and for an aircraft operator of 20,000.00 to 100,000.00 HRK.

Endangering traffic and causing danger to the life or body of people or property, of large scale, is acriminal offense punishable by imprisonment for a term of six months to five years. Even if this criminal offense is committed by neglect, the custodial sentence is for up to 3 years.
